Local entertainer Lawrence Bullock plays in concert at the Mendocino Theatre Company Saturday, September 4 at 3:00 p.m. in the Helen Schoeni Theatre. This guitar concert is part of MTC’s ongoing Afternoon Concert Series, co-sponsored by the Mendocino Hotel and Hill House of Mendocino.

Lawrence is a musician and poet who has performed and read all over the United States and parts of Europe… the Irish parts, actually. He has been writing songs, poetry, plays, essays and novels for most of his life. He’s been published in many small magazines, some medium-sized ones, and a couple that were pretty large. He’s written over a hundred songs, some of which he will actually admit to.

Born to wolves in North Carolina, he escaped to Alaska and, by some strange happenstance, wound up in Mendocino. He came to teach school at a local environmental school, bet large in a poker game, lost, and ended up staying. He’s made some detours, to LA, to Ireland, to SF, but he always comes back to Mendocino. Hasn’t paid off that poker debt, one supposes.
