A Christmas Carol
by Charles Dickens, adapted by Jerry Juhl
Directed by Jerry Greenberg
As a special holiday treat for the entire family and friends of Mendocino Theatre Company, MTC is presenting Charles Dickens', A Christmas Carol, which plays Thursday-Sunday starting December 2 through December 18. This holiday attraction will be presented at low ticket prices as a special gift to our community and those who have supported MTC throughout the year. This production of A Christmas Carol is an original adaptation of the late Jerry Juhl, one of the original writers of The Muppet Show. Jerry along with David Ball and David Feldshuh first adapted and presented this story in November 1992. It is the story of a mean spirited, miserly old man named Ebenezer Scrooge who refuses to embrace the holiday spirit, especially the true meaning of giving. When confronted by the ghosts of his past and Christmas of his present life, as well as things to come, his Bah Humbug life receives an attitude adjustment, and he finally realizes the true meaning of Christmas. This wonderful adaptation is directed by Jerry Greenberg and Bob Cohen. Showtimes are 7:00 pm Thurs-Sat with 2:00 matinees on December 4th, 11th and 18th. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $6.00 for students and children under 6 years old come free (accompanied by an adult).
